Noah Found Grace

"But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord" (Gen. 6:8).

There were, no doubt, millions of people in the world at the time of Noah, but according to the record he was the only one who found grace. Was not grace available to all in his generation? Isn't it amazing that out of earth's millions, only one man and his family found grace. There must be a key somewhere. Here is what I found:

And then Genesis 8:1 tells us that "God remembered Noah"—one man found grace.

In our dispensation grace and truth is revealed in Jesus Christ, and we need to remember that the conditions for experiencing His grace requires a similar response as that of Noah.

Grace was certainly a gift to Noah, even as it is to us. God's grace is extended to every broken and contrite heart (Psa. 34:18). Sometimes grace is presented as being irresistible—something that overwhelms a person. Not so. It is God's response to a repentant and sincere heart—one that is ready to do His will and walk in His ways (Deut. 10:12). We need grace to do that and God responds with abundance of grace. When we choose to walk with God then we must walk the way He walks and respond to His every guidance. God's grace makes that possible, but it does require our full submission.

Here is what Paul wrote to Titus: "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee" (Titus 2:11-15). The evidence of grace is a godly life. "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble" (Jas. 4:6). Grace is God's marvelous provision for us so we can be His sons and daughters. The Holy Spirit within is a marvelous provision of God's grace which makes it possible to fulfill His will for daily living. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Heb. 4:16).
